What are MashupAds?

MashupAds are dynamic display ads that change when your content changes. The ad takes content from a publisher's site and mashes it up with content from an advertiser's site, creating an ad relevant to the user's browsing experience. MashupAds not only bring content into the ad, but they can bring your site functionality as well: say you run a travel site, and you have a form for users to input travel dates and a destination. MashupAds let you take this functionality to your ad, making your advertising strategy simply an extension of your site strategy.

Why are MashupAds better than regular display ads?

MashupAds look, feel, and perform like fully-integrated site features. "Close to content" -- ads that resemble real website features allowing the user to interact and get what they want, raise relevance, purchase intention, and raise CTR by up to 600% over targeted display ads.

I'm an advertiser, what's in it for me?

Advertisers interested in raising the performance (as measured by CTR or conversion) of their ads can make dynamic, relevant ads that use live content from the advertiser's site to populate the ad. What's more, you can even incorporate content from the publisher's site -- in your ad -- to make a two-way, dynamic MashupAd. If you're an online grocer advertising on a recipe page, why not use the names of the ingredients in the recipe to search your grocery site and return a "Suggested Shopping Cart" to order the products necessary to make the recipe? MashupAds makes this easy with AdKitchen (our self-service tool) and integration with all major ad serving platforms. Expect increases in CTR of between 60%-600%.

I'm a publisher, what's in it for me?

Publishers can harness the power of MashupAds to allow elements of their website to become inputs to a MashupAd. Say you're a publisher of a camera review site: you can "unlock" your site to MashupAds through a one-time visual process to label recurring elements with meaningful semantics such as "Camera Type." Then, you can offer your advertisers the ability to use the make and model of the camera being reviewed in their ads to serve an ad to buy the same camera. You'll offer much higher relevance to your advertisers, and at a premium price.

How do I build a MashupAd? What is AdKitchen?

Adkitchen is a self service platform for creating and deploying MashupAds. Through a WYSIWYG interface, you can match up your ad with relevant publishers and export the final product as a .fla or .swf file that can be served on any major ad platform. AdKitchen lets you create a feed from your site, add functionality such as filters to control how this feed is presented, and integrate within relevant publishers. Once you've done this, you have a Flash file that can be designed any way you want, with any Flash editor you're comfortable with. AdKitchen provides extensive analysis and metrics so you can see just how much better you're performing.

Can I use MashupAds with my regular ad serving services?
